ServiceNow Senior Functional Architect

The Opportunity

Total Systems Solutions Consulting Inc. is seeking a ServiceNow Senior Functional Architect to work for our public sector client, the Ministry of Citizen Services in the Province of British Columbia. You must be available to remote, part-time 20 hours per week with availability Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm Pacific Standard Time. It is expected that consultants may be required to occasionally attend meetings in Victoria, British Columbia for which your expenses will be reimbursed.

The anticipated term of this opportunity is from an available start date of September 16, 2024 for 6 months.

Project Context

The Service Management Transformation Program (SMTP) is a multi-year transformation of IT service management operations. The SMTP involves the implementation of the OCIO My Service Centre (My SC), a cloud-based IT service management tool powered by ServiceNow.

Background

The mandate for SMTP focuses on transforming IT service operations to ensure a superior customer experience and contribute to the success of government programs. It also includes the integration of IT service management for shared government IT infrastructure and services. SMTP includes both project and operations work.

Consultant Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of functional architecture experience, focused on ServiceNow.
  • Extensive experience in functional processes and operational usage of the core ServiceNow modules, including ITSM, ITAM, ITOM.
  • Extensive experience in the implementation of CSDM.
  • Previous experience in leading and managing teams in functional areas (e.g., service desk, asset management).
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow modules, especially IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM).
  • Experience working with end users to derive requirements, understand their issues, and provide effective resolutions.
  • Extensive experience in service management processes and the delivery of services.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data model, and security model.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.

Client Interaction

  • Strong competence in working directly with end users to understand their requirements, issues, and objectives.
  • Proven ability to analyze end user problems and work through resolutions effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with end users and stakeholders at all levels.

Leadership Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Certifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • Additional ServiceNow certifications (e.g., ITOM, ITSM, ITAM) are a plus.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: Up to $135.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
