Project Manager
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Project Manager who has experience working in security to place at our client, a Big 5 bank.
Client: Big 5 Bank
Location: Downtown Toronto. 2 days in office
Duration of Contract/Perm: 6-month rolling contract with potential to extend for up to 2 years.
Hours/week: 37.5 hours/week
Start date: end of September
Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to join our client’s team on a 6-month rolling contract, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a critical Identity and Access Management (IAM) acceleration project within the banking sector.
This is a high-profile project requiring a strong technical aptitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the banking industry and a passion for delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Oversee all aspects of the IAM acceleration project, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
  2. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including application teams, and effectively manage expectations.
  3. Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, with a particular focus on information security.
  5. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members.
  6. Business Case Development: Participate in the development of business cases for future projects, including requirements gathering and intake processes.

Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 7 years of progressive project management experience within the banking industry.
  2. Proven track record in delivering complex, technology-driven projects, preferably with a focus on information security or risk management.
  3. Strong understanding of IAM concepts and technologies.
  4. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  6. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Strong financial acumen and experience in project budgeting and forecasting.
  8. Enthusiastic and results-oriented with a positive attitude.

Preferred Skills
  1. Experience with business case development and requirements gathering.
  2. Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
