The Opportunity:


We are currently seeking an IT Network Coordinator to join our Mining Client on a permanent basis. This is a full-time unionized position offering comprehensive benefits. The IT Coordinator is responsible for providing day to day user support including: the maintenance of computer equipment, troubleshooting and performing minor repairs. The successful individual will handle all network connectivity, manage information security and implement IT services and special projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Providing direct support to users across the site; conducting workstation setup, performing IT maintenance tasks while ensuring connectivity to networks including printers, scanners and more.
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting connectivity or data access problems and answer questions about hardware and software issues.
  • Managing information security, set up antivirus programs on workstations, developing policies for email security, and performing periodic data audits and ensuring information backups.
  • Maintaining IT, networking and telecommunications documents and records.
  • Reviewing IT requests, completing purchase requisitions and ordering and receiving required equipment/supplies
  • Providing support for radio communications across the site.


Requirements:


  • Degree or diploma (Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience IT user support, telecommunications and networking, preference in mining.
  • Previous experience supporting IT user base of 200 plus clients.
  • Ability to provide network support including connectivity, working with third party providers and business software implementation.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures for security safety.
  • 5 years’ experience coordinating IT projects, creating and managing IT scopes of work collaborating with procurement and other departments.
  • Working knowledge of Radio communications at remotes sites.
  • Ability to multi-task, handling special projects concurrently.
  • Must posses a valid Driver’s License.


The Work Environment:


  • This role is located at the Mine site.
  • The ideal candidate will work a rotation of 7 days on-7 days off (12 hour shifts)
  • This is a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has a zero tolerance policy.
