Reports To: Director of Admissions and Operations, GUS Canada



Primary Purpose

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Associate Director of Admissions to join our team in Vancouver. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting students to our medical and veterinary schools in the Caribbean. This role involves attending functions, hosting information sessions, meeting with pre-med clubs, engaging with science advisors, and collaborating with university student ambassadors. The role is remote within Vancouver but requires occasional travel within the Greater Vancouver Area, British Columbia and Alberta. This position may require working evenings, weekends, and other non-standard work hours as needed.



Specific Responsibilities

  • Attend and represent our medical schools at graduate fairs, university functions, and other recruitment events.
  • Organize and host information sessions to promote our medical programs to prospective students.
  • Meet with pre-med clubs and science advisors at universities to provide information and answer questions about our programs.
  • Work closely with university student ambassadors to promote our medical schools and support recruitment efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including university administrators, faculty, and student organizations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to attract prospective students.
  • Track recruitment activities and provide regular reports on progress and outcomes to senior management.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, execution, and management of a Regional Recruitment Plan designed to achieve enrollment expectations for Western Canada.
  • Cultivate relationships with pre-med advisors from colleges and universities within Western Canada to develop memorandums of understanding that create pathways for students to attend medical school and veterinary school.
  • Working closely with the recruitment and admissions teams, serve as the region's lead recruiter for all four schools, interfacing with potential candidates, pre-screening applications, and conducting interviews.
  • Liaise with Admissions to Communicate the Admissions Committee's final decisions to candidates, including matters related to conditional acceptances, and enrollment documents.



Position Requirements

Education and Experience:


  • University or college degree in Education, Marketing, Communication or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or a related field, preferably in the education sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire prospective students.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to promoting our medical programs.
  • Ability to travel within the Greater Vancouver Area, British Columbia and Western Canada.
