The Association of Academic Museums & Galleries seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the North Vancouver Museum and Archives. As a key member of the organization, the Director will be responsible for driving the museum's strategic planning and operations, ensuring its financial sustainability, and fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the museum, aligning with the organization's mission and goals.
- Lead and manage the museum's operations, including collections management, exhibitions, and educational programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal governments, local First Nations communities, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure the museum's financial stability through effective budgeting, fundraising, and grant writing.
- Collaborate with the museum's Commission to set priorities and make informed decisions.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven leadership and management experience in a museum or cultural institution.
- Strong strategic planning and operational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with fundraising and grant writing.
- Knowledge of museum best practices and industry standards.
