About the Job:

Talent Harbour is excited to support our client in the Real Estate domain with their recruitment efforts. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operations Development Manager/Director of Development with experience in construction-focused project management. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in delivering projects that align with our clients’ needs while supporting the operational efficiencies of our organization and contributing to long-term strategic planning.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day activities and long-term strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and milestones.
  • Contribute to the creation of project schedules and budgets.
  • Review progress design drawings against milestone deliverables.
  • Ensure projects adhere to established timelines and budgetary constraints while minimizing risks.
  • Foster seamless communication among clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage Requests for Proposals (RFP) and evaluate proposals; offer recommendations.
  • Prepare and handle contract documents, including CCDC and RAIC.
  • Manage third-party contractors, consultants, and subconsultants in the delivery of their assigned scopes.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with potential funding sources, including government agencies, private investors, and financial institutions.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify growth opportunities, develop and execute strategic plans to expand market presence, and build strong relationships to promote services and drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize project delivery and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop strong client relationships.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through effective project delivery and service quality.
  • Design, establish, and streamline processes, reduce operational costs, and improve overall project portfolio delivery (performance).
  • Strategically assign tasks and projects to team members based on their skills and availability, ensuring optimal resource utilization and alignment with project timelines and objectives.
  • Lead monthly progress reporting and documentation of construction meetings.
  • Engage in various project meetings and employ software tools for efficient reporting to track project progress.
  • Escalate challenges to the Managing Director and support corporate growth initiatives.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Lead and grow the Development Team by identifying, attracting, and retaining top talent, fostering a collaborative culture, providing mentorship, and ensuring alignment with the company’s goals.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or certificate in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 5 years' experience in construction, design, or project management consulting.
  • Proven experience in a senior operational role in the real estate industry.
  • Market development experience is an asset.
  • Proficient in project planning, resource allocation, management, and multitasking.
  • Proven track record in managing client accounts with a commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Mentoring or managerial experience. Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documents and presentations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and excel under pressure.
  • Proficiency in drafting project proposals, budgets, schedules, and reviewing contractor quotations.
  • Flexibility for occasional on-site travel within B.C.
