The HQ is based in Edmonton, but the role can be Hybrid or Remote but its expected that you will need to be in the offices for meetings once a week. The rate is VERY competitive, and the contract is expected to run for at least 2 years.


The scope of work is interesting and varied and you will be managing projects and/or sub-projects, including resource allocation and providing oversight for directing resources to achieve project objectives.


Experience Needed / Must Haves:

  • 6+ years experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • 8+ years in developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures.
  • 8+ years experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • 6+ years experience working as a Project Manager on a large complex custom software application development project (where the software is developed in-house for that specific organization).


You will be working with a diverse group and will need excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management and vendors.


Any experience in project coordination of government and vendor-wide information management/information technology initiatives would also be an advantage.


Duties:

  • Responsibility for the coordination and completion of IT projects.
  • Oversees all aspects of projects.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project.
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.
  • Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of the projects.
  • Work with project sponsors to ensure that effective project communication exists through the duration of the project including escalation of risks as required.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to develop a well-defined project plan that clearly states the project’s objectives, scope, assumptions, timeline, resource requirements, risks, benefits and budget.
  • Produce and package deliverables for presentation to various internal support teams, steering committee, and other project stakeholders.
