Hays is partnered with a leading multidiscipline design firm with offices all over North America, known for their large scale institutional and healthcare work. This firm is growing and looking for an experienced Intermediate Architectural Technologist to join their Calgary team. This firm prides itself on its collaborative approach and open mindedness as is looking for people with a similar mindset to become part of the team. This is a great opportunity to work for a large firm with a passion for their people and the communities they design for.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and preparation of drawings, construction documents, consultant coordination and facilitate project schedule milestones and deliverables.
  • Assist with resolving difficult operating tasks or drawing production problems, Resolve complex design and technical issues with the assistance of other team members.
  • Accountable for effective coordination and communication with partners, clients, and consultants.
  • Keeping up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology.
  • Research and prepare technical aspects for design development documentation.
  • Work with other team members to achieve and maintain schedules, budgets, and quality control standards.


Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience as an architectural technologist.
  • You possess excellent visual/graphic, written, and verbal communication skills with a focus on effective collaboration drafting/design.
  • Prior commercial, institutional and/ or healthcare project experience is required
  • You must have a solid understanding of MEP and Structural building systems and building codes is required.
  • You will have an Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent and LEED AP is considered a strong asset
  • You must have full proficiency in Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • The successful candidate has a strong communication skills and is a collaborative team player who is curious to learn from an integrated design team on all aspects of project delivery.


In exchange for your hard work and commitment you will earn $70K-$90K (dependent on experience) + paid overtime, benefits including health + dental, RRSP, 3 weeks’ vacation + the week off over Christmas. This is a hybrid opportunity to WFH 2 days a week.
