Our client is a reputable company that focuses on projects that have a significant environmental impact, ensuring that industrial processes not only comply with regulations but also contribute to the health of our communities and ecosystems. They are looking for a talented e Architectural Technologist with experience working on some industrial projects such as Waste Water projects, warehouses and facilities, as well as potentially some commercial projects. to join their dynamic team in Calgary, Alberta. THE ROLE The Architectural Technologist will play a key role in producing detailed sets of drawings for a range of project types. This role requires a blend of architectural expertise, technical acumen, and practical experience in industrial projects. You will collaborate with engineers and architects. Responsibilities include
  • Design & Planning: Develop detailed architectural designs for wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and other related facilities.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design specifications meet regulatory and client requirements.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical documents, including drawings, blueprints, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Site Analysis: Conduct site assessments to determine feasibility and design considerations for wastewater projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Sustainable Practices: Incorporate sustainable design practices to minimize environmental impact and enhance resource efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the implementation of designs during construction, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain communication with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project progress.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for design and project management tasks.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in wastewater management and architectural design, suggesting improvements and innovations.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diplomain Architectural Technology, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural technology with some industrial project experience. Waste water project experience would be an asset.
  • Proficiency inAutoCAD and Revit.
  • Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and related infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for wastewater projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Physical ability to conduct site visits, including accessing various types of industrial environments.
