A Day in the Life The People Experience Generalist (HR Generalist) is an essential member of our People Experience (HR) department. They will have a wide range of human resources duties as it relates to policies, processes, procedures, and programs. They will be looked upon to provide great customer service, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in the dealings you have with team members and candidates. All About You What You’ll Bring to the Role:
  1. Ensures consistent implementation and adherence to the high standard of culture and ethical values of the company.
  2. Experience in a role where strong attention to detail, being resourceful, working on multiple projects, and handling competing demands are the norm.
  3. Excellent consultative and presentation skills, with proven success in developing strong, collaborative relationships across multiple departments and levels.
  4. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
  5. Professionalism, with the ability to maintain confidential information and a positive "can-do" attitude.
  6. Works independently as well as with a team and uses judgment to identify the most appropriate solution.
The Must Haves A diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
Must have 1 – 3 years experience as an HR Generalist supporting a high volume of employees
The ability to travel within Canada
Understanding of Ontario legislation Things You Will be Doing Responsibilities:
  • Works in partnership with management on various employment matters such as performance management, employee inquiries or complaints, investigations, and terminations.
  • Maintains and coordinates NRI’s safety program as needed and chairs the monthly safety meetings.
  • Coordinates and facilitates new-hire orientation and maintains accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files.
  • Maintains required documentation, including electronic documentation, for affirmative action, leaves of absence, attendance, vacation, and positive performance.
  • Coordinates social responsibility and employee events, administers benefit programs, and provides training and education for NRI employees.
  • Manages recruitment activities; screens resumes, interviews candidates, sets up interviews with hiring managers, makes offers, and coordinates pre-screening.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of all activities and records.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
