Summary:
The Field Service Technician will perform mechanical and/or electrical service work on Jenbacher Gas Engines that range in power from 0.35 to 4.5 MW, and run on either natural gas or a variety of other gases (e.g., biogas, landfill gas), including but not limited to commissioning, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and overhaul. We seek a candidate who has a core foundation of integrity and is willing and able to use commitment and creativity to drive our organization towards success. This position is located in Eastern Canada.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with the company HSE policies.
  2. Execute service on the engines in compliance with the maintenance protocol. For example, checking oil, replacing filters and valves, and diverse types of measurements.
  3. Carry out minor repairs on the engine in addition to the planned service.
  4. Execute major service on the engine in cooperation with colleagues in compliance with the protocol for major service.
  5. Troubleshoot engines in the field of electronics and mechanics.
  6. Create a service report that includes reason for visit, symptoms, actions, use of materials, parts and hours, the result, and if needed, follow-up actions.
  7. Process timesheets, expense reports, Health and Safety forms, and job reports in a timely manner.
  8. Collaborate with Service Manager on repair strategies to accurately inform customer quotes.
  9. Work effectively as part of a team of technicians or independently.
  10. Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with existing and potential internal and external customers.
  11. Participate in internal and external training courses as an opportunity for career growth and development.
  12. Be available to participate in on-call rotation for after-hour calls as required.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 3 years’ field service work experience.
  2. Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, Natural Gas Compression, Automotive, or Millwright Certificate.
  3. Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances.
  4. Possess a well-rounded knowledge of engine, generator, controls, and balance of plant considered an asset.
  5. High voltage, non-diesel generator, automation and controls, or PLC control experience considered an asset.
  6. Ability to use computer technology and SAP experience is considered an asset.
  7. Self-motivated team player with strong attention to detail.
  8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  9. Clean drivers abstract must be provided at the time of hire.
