Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician for our Mississauga Construction & Forestry location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction, aggregate/crushing units, pavers/compaction, and forestry-based equipment and attachments in a field environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate the working condition of heavy-duty equipment
  2. Diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy-duty equipment
  3. Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  4. Dismantle, repair, and assemble industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications
  5. Operate hoisting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, and/or repair activities
  6. Test and provide feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment
  7. Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment
  8. Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery
  9. Prepare electronic inspection and service reports
  10. Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts
  11. Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
  12. Other duties as required

Required Skills

  • Effective communication with customers, service team, and branch personnel
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration work
  • Diagnostic skills for understanding equipment repair needs
  • Time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills to appreciate customer needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Commitment to high-quality customer service with a people-oriented approach
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Required Experience

  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment considered an asset
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence
