About the Company:

Adecco is actively seeking an experienced Law Clerk to join our client’s dynamic team specializing in Insurance Defense Litigation. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive clerical support within a confidential and professional environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and a passion for legal support.


Pay range and compensation package:

Pay Rate: $80k-$100k/year.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing file materials and assisting in drafting assessments.
  • Organizing and managing files, including requesting, indexing, and organizing documentary productions.
  • Supporting lawyers in drafting pleadings, document production, motions, mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs, and preparation for hearings and trials.
  • Reviewing and summarizing transcripts of examinations for discovery, managing undertakings, refusals, and assembling answers.
  • Corresponding with counsel to ensure receipt of all necessary productions, including liability productions from co-defendants and damage productions from plaintiffs.
  • Providing support on matters related to professional negligence, product liability, motor vehicle accidents, and slip and fall claims.
  • Communicating effectively and acting as a liaison between clients and lawyers for day-to-day matters.
  • Maintaining knowledge and compliance with the firm’s practice and file management policies and procedures.
  • Docketing time and managing billings accordingly.
  • Involvement in the analysis of claims.


Qualifications:

Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.


Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in Insurance Defense Litigation.
  • Solid understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Law Clerk Diploma or relevant academic background.
