Insight Global is looking for an aspiring individual who is ready to take the next step in their career to lead our fully established Transportation Engineering team. As the successful candidate, you will manage a team of transportation engineers and technicians and will have overall responsibility for the team’s performance, including client deliverables, budgets, and schedules. You will provide for the key integration of internal and external resources for project delivery. You will be a champion for all things related to Transportation Engineering within the company.

Building on the strong reputation of the team and company, you will be responsible for business development and the continued growth of the department, with strategic input into the work that the Transportation Engineering team takes on.

Reporting to the President, and as a member of the senior management team, you will participate in the development of strategic business initiatives related to the Transportation Engineering Department.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the President and Senior Management Team on policies, strategic planning, and corporate initiatives.
  • Prepare and manage the annual department budget and staffing needs.
  • Develop and coordinate successful proposals for transportation services.
  • Participate in hiring, promotions and recruiting.
  • Provide leadership, training, performance management, professional development, and mentorship to the transportation engineering team.
  • Offer technical support to the team for highway and road design including reporting, drawings, and specifications.
  • Guide engineers and designers to maintain and improve team capabilities and technical quality.
  • Implement Health & Safety policies and practices within the Transportation Engineering team for both in office and field work.
  • Maintain key external client relationships to ensure we understand client needs and expectations.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental relationships and work (ongoing and prospective).
  • Stay updated with local, provincial, and federal government regulations relevant to the transportation group.

Ideal qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of related Transportation experience, including supervisory/management experience is desired.
  • A Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma preferred but consideration will be given to candidates with proven experience in the Transportation Engineering field, with other educational backgrounds
  • Experienced in the development and management of staff and project teams.
  • Strong inter-personal relationship skills for effective collaboration with employees, government officials, agencies, and contractors.
  • Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Ontario G class drivers license.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
