Project Management Specialist

Key Job Elements

  1. Provide direct support to the Canadian CSS Project Management Team members and Area Manager.

  3. Execution of CSS contracted deliverables, which includes ensuring adherence to schedules, strategy, development, reviews, and delivery.
  4. Conduct detailed monitoring of all Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and scheduling for CSS Elements, initiate Baseline Change Request (BCR) and schedule adjustments as necessary to address and prevent EVMS variance scenarios.
  5. Provide direct and indirect support for the entire organization when CSS capabilities are needed, while ensuring all work is funded & supported.
  6. Manage CSS vehicle builds, reworks, retrofits, and testing(s) which includes the coordination of parts, vehicles, and equipment.
  7. Support the training department with customer schedule shifts, funding changes, supplier information, and miscellaneous actions.
  8. Provide overall Internal and External Status and Metrics Reporting information for CSS Elements.
  9. Provide reach-back support for Field Service Representatives (FSRs) who are deployed or on location.
  10. Prepare and conduct CSS relevant presentations for Program Reviews, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Management Team Meetings and other senior leadership briefings and presentations as required.
  11. Conduct and lead CSS in the development of Contract Change Proposals (CCPs) along with Bid & Proposals (B&P) activities ensuring hours, headcount, ODCs, schedules, and Sr Management presentations are completed.
  12. Support the tracking of Contractor Acquired Property within CSS.
  13. Coordinate daily activities on Canadian Programs as required.
  14. Build strong, trustful relationships with the Canadian customer and program office using clear communication(s).
  15. Support the customer’s requirements for any vehicle storage maintenance and exercise.
  16. Act as the Project Management’s main Point of Contact for all fielded vehicle’s Service Bulletins and Service Directives.
  17. Lead on any legacy variant requested by our customers.
  18. Main Point of Contact on Customer Support Services Software Taskings from bidding, scheduling, and execution.
  19. Main Point of Contact on Customer Support Services Turret Taskings from bidding, scheduling, and execution.

Required Qualifications

  1. University degree or College diploma.
  2. Minimum 2 years Program or Project Management experience, ideally in a defence contract or military support environment.
  3. Experience working within a team and/or customers.
  4. Strong communication, presenting, organization and prioritization skills.
  5. Demonstrated strength in Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  7. Exhibits a positive approach to complex situations while demonstrating determination, flexibility, and grit.
  8. Ability to travel (5% Canadian, 5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport.
  9. Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Over 5 years of Project Management experience.
  2. Working knowledge of GDLS-C’s departments, structures, and goals.
  3. CCP, B&P, ROM Experience.
  4. Working knowledge of Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) Systems and Support/Sustainment of LAV Systems.
  5. Basic knowledge of Earned Value Management.
