Works under direct supervision of the senior leadership team.
Job Summary:
The Director of Human Resources is a key leadership position requiring extensive HR experience, strong leadership skills, and strategic thinking. The Director of Human Resources will have a strong background in managing multi-site operations, a deep understanding of labour laws, benefits and safety protocols and a successful history of recruiting and retaining key talent. As the Director of Human Resources, you will create positive business relationships to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s goal, objectives and strategic plan.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Develop, maintain and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Maintain and develop appropriate organizational structure and job descriptions.
- Oversee the hiring process, including job postings, recruitment, selection, and onboarding.
- Design interview questions, conduct interviews and create employment offers and packages for successful candidates.
- Develop employee training programs and implement as required.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations including health and safety rules.
- Manage employee compensation and benefit programs, including salary reviews and bonuses.
- Enforce company policies and lead disciplinary procedures.
- Develop and maintain employee performance management system.
- Oversee processes related to storing and maintaining employee records.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support on HR matters to others within the organization.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects within specified time frames.
Mandatory requirements of the role are as follows:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or Human Resources.
- Must have a CHRP designation.
- 10+ years of experience working in a Human Resource Role or Department, with at least 5 years in a management position
- Obtain and maintain a valid AGCO license.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects within specified time frames.
- Experience in Ceridian and Dayforce is an asset but not required.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
