WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
The Assistant Manager supports the daily operationsof the store while acting in accordance to Roots principles and standards. The Assistant Manager is required toprovide sales and customer service leadership to employees and project theRoots culture and brand through both excellent customer service and strongvisual presentation techniques. Reporting directly to theStore Manager, the Assistant Manager oversees the daily operations of the storeand drives the business and develops their people through a balanced leadershipstyle. They are able to lead and create anoverall positive customer and employee experience.
Tobe successful, you’ll need to possess:
· 2 + years related experience in a retailapparel environment, luxury retail experience isa plus ;
· Be aleader that drives results, develops talent, and focuses on the customer;
· Demonstrated sales achievements in a retailstore;
· Strong organization, and problem solvingskills;
· Experience with visual planning andmerchandising;
· Collaborate with others, yetbe self-motivated;
· Outstanding written, verbal,and presentation skills ;
· Available for varied weeklyshifts, including weekends, closing and holidays.

- Demonstrate a customerobsessed selling culture and build brand loyalty through excellent productknowledge;
- Assisting the Store Manager inthe achievement of the store sales budgets through execution of companystandards, policies and procedures while exceeding customers' expectationsthrough superior service at every opportunity;
- Supporting the Store Managerin providing product knowledge and selling skills training to new andexisting staff;
- Ensurestore and team members are presented to the highest possible standards inline with brand expectation, and provide feedback regularly to StoreManager on performance opportunities;
- Coaches and motivatesassociates on customer service fundamentals and provides positivefeedback;
- Assisting the Store Manager inthe execution of all recruitment activities, and new hire onboarding;
- Identifyand resolve problems in a timely manner. Use feedback to modify anddevelop alternative solutions and be prepared to make decisions;
- Oversees and delegates tasksto team to best maximize efficiency of store operations;
- Collaboratewith Store Manager in areas of risk management, physical security (health& safety), store cash controls (bank deposits, safe funds, pettycash), and inventory management (stock take, stock counts)
- Perform and supervise store opening and closingprocedures including counting register funds, completing bank deposits,opening and closing registers and securing facility
- Ensure visual merchandising directives are implementedefficiently as per direction and visual standards are maintained at alltimes
- Partnerwith Store Manager on all daily store operations to support a salesenvironment and achieve operational & LP guidelines to protect Rootsmerchandise and assets;
- Healthand Safety in the workplace applies to everyone at Roots
