Assistant Supervisor – Child Care (RECE, ECE)

Position: Assistant Supervisor (RECE)

Hours Per Day: Varies by Region & Centre (7.5 hours per day)

Guaranteed Starting Hourly Rate: $25.00 (Up to additional $4.00/hr)

Location: Brigadoon YMCA Child Care, Waterloo Region

Work Hours: Monday to Friday. Shifts will vary between 7:00am – 6:00pm

Role Overview:

As an Assistant Child Care Supervisor, you will plan and implement a child-centred program in accordance with our Playing to Learn curriculum (0-6 years old) and the YMCA Place to Connect curriculum (6-12 years old).

In this role, you will:

  • Spend 50% in the office and 50% in program.
  • Support the supervisor in leading a team to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Build knowledge, skills and confidence in your team through effective supervision.
  • Make meaningful connections with children, families, and community partners.
  • Foster a positive team environment.
  • Support all ages and stages of development.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities.

What you will bring:

  • Registered Early Childhood Educator: An Early Childhood Educator Diploma and registration in good standing with CECE.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years in a licensed child care setting.
  • General Qualifications:
  • Experience leading diverse teams.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg and work outdoors.
  • Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
