The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive Human Resources services, policies, and programs. The goal is to promote an employee-oriented, quality-focused, high-performance culture at a manufacturing facility in Brantford, Ontario. This role is a fully on-site position 5 times a week.

Responsibilities
  1. Assists in the development and implementation of people-related services, policies, and programs.
  2. Assists and advises managers and employees on HR related policies, procedures, and programs.
  3. Administers the following HR-related services:
    1. Recruitment (sort through resumes, perform background checks, prepare onboarding packages)
    2. Onboarding
    3. Compensation
    4. Organizational structure (charts, job descriptions, and job requirements)
    5. Benefits administration (ASO Health & Dental; Short and Long-Term Disability and Life)
    6. Employee relations and outreach
    7. Employee communications
    8. Performance management
  4. Prepares and maintains reports and database to carry out the functions of the position, including periodic reports for corporate HR and senior management, as necessary or as requested.
  5. Participates in meetings with employees and managers as required.
  6. Organizes, completes, and tracks annual Code of Conduct Refresher Training for all employees and managers.
  7. Ensures regulatory compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable provincial and corporate requirements, conducting audits and investigations, and maintaining required records.
  8. Maintains HR records (current and historical data).
  9. Liaise with group benefit providers, legal counsel, and other 3rd party providers of HR-related services.
  10. Works with top organizational officers on HR related programs and communications.
  11. Oversees all employee terminations (voluntary and involuntary) and conducts exit interviews.
  12. Provides input into the preparation of annual HR budget and monitors monthly.
  13. Serves as secretary for the Employee Committee, preparing and distributing committee minutes and assisting the committee in the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
  14. Assists with organizing employee events (retirements, summer BBQ’s, etc.).
  15. Assists with organizing and administering training and development programs as required.
  16. Assists in the distribution and collection of the employee satisfaction survey.
  17. Assists with weekly payroll audit; completes weekly attendance reports.
  18. Organizes/schedules training for plant employees.
  19. Filing of HR & Safety documents.
  20. Plant compliance audits.
  21. Presenting training to employees on the floor alongside safety team.
  22. Organizing files and document storage on drives.
  23. Help plan events to celebrate safety accomplishments.
Qualifications
  • Strong, effective communicator in written, presentation, and interpersonal communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Highly developed relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity and skill with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and maintain productive relationships.
  • Positive attitude.
Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Experience in HR in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience implementing new HR programs.
  • Change management skill and experience.
  • Familiarity and skill with Visio.
