An established practice of almost 25 years, our firm continues to expand our external and internal marketing efforts, giving candidates the opportunity to learn from proven strategies while also while spearheading innovative initiatives and projects with new offerings and projects. Work on exciting projects across the country covering a variety of design disciplines and help raise the public and professional profile of Brook McIlroy and our Indigenous Design Studio.Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to meet strict client-driven deadlines, and collaborative. Standard day-to-day activities involve the prompt completion of proposals and media related projects for the firm’s many studios, with the opportunity to work on projects of larger scale and duration based on skill set and goals set with Marketing Director and Management team.Key Responsibilities
  • Proposal coordination– Work with the team to identify relevant proposals and prepare submission packages to public and private clients. Maintain and communicate a dynamic calendar of proposal milestones, deadlines, and deliverables with staff and external collaborators. Develop operational and technical processes with the Marketing Director to streamline regular submissions and flex your creativity on unique pursuits.
  • Opportunity tracking and project archiving– Work within a database environment to catalog and track potential and won awards, pursuit opportunities, completed/upcoming photography, etc. Assist with proposal searching and develop new ways with the Marketing Director to streamline and automate tracking processes.
  • Customer Relationship Management – Assist in the development and maintenance of a contact database (e.g. external partners, subconsultants, clients) and identify opportunities to collaborate and strengthen our industry and community connections through ongoing campaigns and outreach.
  • Collateral development – Assist in the creation of the material the team needs to promote our work. This involves elements of technical writing and layout design for materials such as award submissions, brochures, and presentations.
  • External channels – Help maintain our external presence using a content calendar informed by the team’s priorities. Cross-broadcast on socials, on our website, via press release, and through email campaigns.
  • Strategy and Tactics – Assist the Marketing Director in identifying new and innovative ways for us to connect with our clients, communities, and colleagues. Provide insights based on market research and best practices, but also inform direction with your own skillsets and interests.
Qualifications
  • Ability to meet client-driven deadlines and deliver high quality work
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with teams beyond the marketing department who are driven by design excellence, client service, and creating an inclusive built environment.
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous deadlines/projects
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Preference for education and/or work experience within B2B marketing/communications, journalism, technical writing, grant writing, architecture/design, or related fields
Salary Range$60K – $75K commensurate with experienceValue Add

  • Experience/interest working with Indigenous communities
  • Any kind of multimedia communication skillset (photography, videography, infographic design, audio production, etc.)
