Hardware-in-the-Loop Support Engineer

Hardware-in-the-Loop Support Engineer – Our Client is looking for a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Engineer to be responsible for providing support to the development of HIL test environments, currently focused on Brake Controls Systems.
Compensation and Work Schedule
• Term: 12 Month Contract, with possibility for extension
• Start date: Immediate
• Schedule: Day shift
• Est. Reg. Hrs/Wk: 40 hrs/week
• Work location/environment: Home office and corporate office in Markham and Oshawa, ON
Qualifications and Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electronic engineering is preferred)
• Proficient at MATLAB SIMULINK and Knowledge of Python and C/C++
• Real-time simulation experience and knowledge of dSPACE or other HIL platforms
• Experience with automotive embedded controls software integration and testing
• Familiarity with testing tools such as INCA, Lauterbach, VSpy or CANoe
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, placement diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• Interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
• Understanding of brake systems will be an asset
• Mechanical and electronics aptitude and hands-on skills
• Previous experience in operating and maintaining test benches is preferred
• Ability to Install and operate control modules with ETAS equipment
Responsibilities
• Integration and validation of dynamic simulation models for HIL real-time closed loop simulation framework
• Design, develop and integrate serial data communication models (CAN, LIN and Ethernet) based on simulation architecture
• Troubleshoot HIL bench issues related to CAN, Ethernet and LIN protocol
• Provide support to HIL teams at facilities in Oshawa and Markham
• Strive to improve job performance each day in the spirit of continuous Improvement; maintain a personal action plan and priorities list, review and update daily
• Generate Safe Operating Procedures and obtain bench safety approval
• Support safety culture and ensure test benches and lab equipment fully comply with company safety protocols
• Participate in identifying, correcting, and closing safety issues and concerns
Required Conditions
• Candidates must complete a background check, criminal record check, pre-employment screening and be eligible to work in Canada
• Level G Ontario Driver’s License with a clean record
• Ability to travel to the United States to conduct business
