Greenstone Mine is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Superintendent, the Senior Buyer is responsible for accurate and timely data processing and supporting Supply Chain activities while respecting GGM’s core values mission statement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans in line with GGM’s goals and objectives.
  2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  3. Manage and maintain relationships with existing suppliers, monitoring their performance and addressing any issues that may arise.
  4. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, market conditions, and potential risks and opportunities.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide procurement solutions that meet their needs.
  6. Track deliveries and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
  7. Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  8. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce expenses.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
  10. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
  11. Any other opportunities and assignments as deemed relevant.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  1. Self-motivated and safety conscience.
  2. Proficiency working in SAP, Microsoft Office, and other procurement software applications.
  3. Ability to plan, prioritize, resolve conflict, negotiate, and keep initiatives moving forward.
  4. Advanced knowledge of contract formation and contract administration for construction and professional services.
  5. Ability to build working relationships through respect and integrity, open communication, teamwork, negotiation, influence, and relationship management.
  6. Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain best practices in process and technology.
  7. Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance.
  8. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to procurement.
  9. Lean Six Sigma skills an asset.
  10. Inventory optimization experience an asset.
  11. Proactive and result-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  1. Undergraduate Degree.
  2. Certification in a professional association (Supply Chain Management).
  3. Minimum of 15 years experience, including 10 years at a senior level.
  4. Minimum 10 years end-to-end procurement process with varying size contracts.

LOCATION

  1. This position will be remote with some travel required to the GGM Mine site based in Geraldton, Ontario.

Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
