Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of work to company standards including measuring and cutting materials, constructing structures, and installing fixtures. Demolition and site prep is occasionally required.
  • Extensive working experience using a wide range of tools including power saws, hammers, drills, and hand tools.
  • Mentor and supervise our Apprentice Carpenters with hands-on demonstrations and direction.
  • Diplomatically communicate in a professional manner to clients when required.
  • Provide training and guidance to all on-site team members as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications and communicate tasks out to team.
  • Install interior and exterior finishes such as drywall, trim, siding, and roofing.
  • Build and install cabinets, counters, and other custom cool projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian building codes and industry safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members and sub-contractors as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ALWAYS
  • Understands the client's need to have the project finished on time and on budget with quality results.
  • Reports to Site Supervisor and/or Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal certification as a Carpenter preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a carpenter in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excels at leading problem-solving discussions in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Aligns with and demonstrates our Core Values.
  • Ability to estimate materials and labor costs accurately an asset.
  • Understands and can communicate industry building codes and safety standards.
  • First Aid ticket and other complimentary certifications an asset.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as (rarely) needed.
  • Construction Site Supervisory (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to assist team under duress to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to work at heights and on ladders or scaffolding.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary starts from $40.00/hour.
