As a Network Administrator II, under the direction of the IT Manager, you will oversee the maintenance of a robust and secure data communications network, including the organization, its disaster recovery site, and seven other group companies.
This position requires the successful candidate be be in the office in Edmonton Alberta 5 days a week.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Comprehensive management of network infrastructure
- Upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunications systems
- Coordinating IP phones across multiple systems
- Ensuring network operations, software applications, and regular maintenance are at peak efficiency
- Managing and delivering on assigned project objectives
- Providing technical support to staff and external vendors
- Supervising network-related system and server administration
- Resolving hardware, software, and security system malfunctions
- Facilitating conducive work environment for employees using various IT tools
- Training new team members
- Managing user accounts
- Preparing workstations for immediate use and managing hardware recycling processes
- Perform regular backups and restoration of data as necessary
- Providing remote technical support for international staff
- Troubleshooting network lines and deploying hardware and software components
- Prioritizing and managing technical issues
Necessary Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, networking specialization
- Network administration/engineering/architecture experience (5+ years)
- 5+ years of experience with CISCO, Fortinet and Dell
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) & Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Exceptional communication skills in English and French an asset
- Able to pass a criminal records check, educational background check, and reference checks
