Work Arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position will require some physical presence at the NRC work location identified in the form of a hybrid work arrangement (a combination of working onsite and offsite).

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

Formal training in project management at a university, college or Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

  • Significant and recent experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating project management activities in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in analyzing business processes and information in order to manage complex issues including identifying, addressing, mediating and resolving issues.
  • Significant experience using MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Candidates must have at least one of the following asset criteria in order to be screened-in:

  • Experience using SAP Project Systems would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in developing communication and training plans/products would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and working group sessions effectively, ensuring active participation, collaboration, and productive discussions would be considered an asset.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices in an R&D multi-disciplinary environment in order to establish appropriate project structures and timelines, plan, coordinate with stakeholders and oversee the work of staff and contractors.
  • Sound knowledge of operational and financial management within a large organization preferably within a Canadian federal government context such as the ability to read and interpret project and financial data.
  • Ability to give presentations such as provide information, coaching or training to colleagues or clients.
  • Ability to implement new processes, methods, or practices that significantly improve project management would be considered an asset.
