For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who possess coding experience and demonstrate an enthusiastic curiosity towards the following areas: data engineering, data visualization, cloud computing, and mining technologies. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PDT or MDT or relocate to a specific office (site-based). You are currently a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Responsibilities
  1. Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  2. Design, build and deploy Data Pipelines on Azure for Operational Data including Historian time series data, SQL server databases and unstructured data sources
  3. Tackle sophisticated technical problems with legacy systems to overcome technical roadblocks preventing data migration to the cloud platform
  4. Conduct detailed validation of pipeline data, prioritizing data delivery, security, and quality to maintain integrity and confidentiality
  5. Provide and develop monitoring and performance metrics for data-pipelines to measure and ensure key performance indicators are met
  6. Maintain application and system documentation
  7. Facilitate and support incident response and forensics for pipelines on Azure
Qualifications
  1. Preference will be given to students with diverse educational backgrounds, including Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and Engineering
  2. Coding experience in Python, SQL, C# is an asset
  3. Experience with cloud platforms is an asset and a variety of technology backgrounds is valued
  4. Proficient in both independent work and collaborative partnership, encouraging an inclusive and diverse environment
  5. Proven ability to learn new technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
  6. Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment
  7. Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand
Wage Range: $3900 - $5000 / Month

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
