We pride ourselves on the culinary creation served from our kitchen and are currently looking for Line Cooks experienced with traditional and innovative Italian cuisine. Successful candidates have previous experience in gourmet Italian cooking and are knowledgeable with top quality Italian ingredients, sophisticated techniques, and the art of food plating. Ideal candidates should be an expert at their particular station while having a working knowledge of all stations in the kitchen.

Job Description

  1. Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, following the specifications, recipes, and techniques of the company.
  2. Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
  3. Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  4. Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
  5. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  6. Set up stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
  7. Garnish each dish in a creative and aesthetically pleasing manner.
  8. Ensure that the correct quantities are prepared to meet daily needs.
  9. Follow proper reporting procedures for accidents and incidents to ensure follow-up and prevention.
  10. Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant.

Terms: Full Time
Location: 1 Harbour Square, Toronto, ON M5J 1A6
Salary: $18.00-$20.00/hour

Qualifications

  1. Culinary school diploma or other professional culinary certificates.
  2. Proven cooking experience in an Italian kitchen (3 years at least).
  3. In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures characteristic of Italian cuisine.
  4. High level of artistry and creativity in the presentation of dishes.
  5. Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  6. Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
