As HR Specialist you will assist as the primary point of contact for HR processes, employee relations and other people related issues for our Canadian Solenis & Diversey employees. This role supports the organization in achieving operational targets by promoting, implementing, managing, and maintaining effective HR policies, programs, procedures, and practices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a positive employee relations climate in both union and non-union environments and guide day-to-day employment issues and corrective actions.
  • Build strong relationships with all employees and leaders and work as an integrated HR partner to ensure consistency and alignment across the HR function.
  • Coach business leaders on people-related matters, providing objective consultation and supporting issue resolution.
  • Coordinate and Administer Leave Management program across the Canadian organization including early and safe return to work.
  • Administration of Canadian group benefit plan and assistance with administration of Canadian DB and DC Pension Plans.
  • Manage New Hire process including onboarding and orientation as required.
  • Help manage projects across the enterprise in order to implement and manage human resources processes, including:
  • Talent Reviews and Succession Planning
  • Hiring and Candidate Assessment
  • Performance Management including assessments, calibration, compensation planning
  • Job Analysis and Evaluation to determine job level, base salary and career progression
  • Promotion Process and Criteria
Stay updated on changes in local legislation and interfaces with legal counsel as necessary to interpret statutory changes.Support and lead special projects as directed including mergers and acquisition support.Provide surge support for critical HR initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prefer BS or BA in Business, Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards is desirable.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Human Resources progressive generalist/HRBP experience including employee relations, benefits, pension and leave management.
  • Working knowledge of provincial laws/regulations relating to the human resources field are desirable.
  • Highly desirable if you are bi-lingual – French.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems; Workday knowledge, understanding and experience preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage the execution of people related projects.
  • Ability to form strong partnership with all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate and influence.
  • Action-oriented individual with strong levels of perseverance; works toward both individual and team goals.
  • Demonstrates personal initiative and the ability to be involved at various levels and willingness to “roll up sleeves” to drive results and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments/projects.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

This role will be mostly remote, however will require possible once a week or bi-weekly visits to the Mississauga office.
