Data Operations Manager

Altis Recruitment is seeking a Manager, Data Operations for our client in the healthcare industry on a permanent basis. The successful incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining data and visualization architecture, including Enterprise and Research Data Warehouses, MLOps, infrastructure, and dashboard/visualization systems.
This role leads a team of ETL, OLAP, and SSRS developers to design, model, and implement data systems and supports the integration and alignment of new data sources with organizational needs.
Roles and Responsibilities
Data Operations and System Architecture:
- Develop and implement scalable, modern data architectures based on best practices.
- Establish quality control and data standards to ensure data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reproducible (FAIR).
- Support data governance principles through effective technologies, processes, and system design.
- Lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of ETL solutions, including workflows, transformations, and cleansing.
- Oversee the development of Machine Learning Operations infrastructure and its integration with data systems.
- Coordinate system upgrades and ensure alignment with organizational needs, including external data source updates.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Supervise a team of developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and implementation of technical solutions, including database designs, metadata, and reporting environments.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment aligned with organizational values.
- Manage human resources, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development for the team.
Technical Oversight:
- Maintain data models, flow diagrams, and installation/configuration documentation.
- Design and develop data marts, OLAP cubes, and SSRS reporting environments.
- Ensure infrastructure optimization and alignment between systems like SQL Server and SharePoint.
- Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and resolving system issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, including technical leadership in Data Warehouse development.
- Expertise in OLAP, ETL solutions, and data warehouse methodologies.
- Familiarity with graph database technologies and interoperable schema development.
- Proficiency in data transformation and routing tools such as Apache NiFi (or equivalent).
- Experience in Machine Learning Operations and system integrations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
