Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for the accurate & timely processing of the bi-weekly payroll for approximately 5,000 hospital & supporting organization staff using Meditech and API eScheduling systems. The successful candidate will prepare monthly reporting and is accountable for the calculation & reconciliation of legislated remittances. This role is also a primary contact in addressing both internal and external stakeholder inquiries.
- Process the bi-weekly payroll for unionized and non-unionized employees accurately by ensuring compliance with HHS policies and union collective agreements
- Process employee expense reimbursement claims and other payments in accordance with HHS policies
- Review and process bi-weekly payroll adjustment forms
- Prepare audit reports of the bi-weekly payroll for review
- Prepare, reconcile and remit monthly government remittances
- Process and submit employment and government forms as required (i.e. Stats Canada reports, ROE's, WSIB claim information)
- Act as a resource to internal departments for payroll matters
- Engage in cross functional workflow development & testing
- Recommend and lead process improvements
- Work cross functionally to ensure organizational compliance with payroll processes
- Calculate & process retro payments as required
- Provide organizational payroll training
- Perform administrative duties including filing, data entry, ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.

- PCP designation preferred, PCP candidates may be considered
- Diploma or university degree required
- Demonstrated success in a fast paced, high complexity & high- volume work environment required
- Healthcare, Meditech or in-house payroll processing experience is preferred
- Technically competent as demonstrated with experience in large ERP systems & intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize deliverables in a dynamic environment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent verbal & written communication and able to effectively work will all levels of the organization with a customer focus.
- Proven ability to remain solution oriented when faced with difficult situations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physically able to sit, stand, walk, occasional lift and/or carry approximately 20lbs
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
Status: Permanent Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday - 7.5 hour shifts; 0800 - 1600
Salary Range: $31.75 to $39.73 per hour
