A sole practitioner specializing in family law, estate litigation, civil litigation, and Wills and Estates is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented part-time Legal Assistant to join their practice. The position is part-time, 2 or 3 days a week (8 hours each day). This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive support in managing cases, preparing legal documents, and ensuring efficient office operations. The office is centrally located in Burnaby, accessible by transit and skytrain, and is located in a new office building with amazing views.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with case preparation, including organizing and managing files, and drafting legal documents.
  • Manage client communications, including scheduling consultations and responding to inquiries.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts and other relevant entities.
  • Provide general administrative support, including office organization and maintaining confidential client information.
  • Assist in the management of case deadlines and ensure timely follow-ups.


Qualifications

  • Must be fluent in Vietnamese.
  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a legal setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills.


Wage

  • $22 to $25 per hour, based on experience, or higher for right candidate
  • paid kilometres if using own vehicle
