Responsibilities:
- Ensures accurate and timely payroll processing
- Maintains expert knowledge of payroll system and prevailing payroll/legislative practices
- Recommends and implements improvements to payroll system and services
- Duties Include:_
- Meets payroll processing deadlines by ensuring that internal processes are effective and efficient
- Inputs data and runs processing activities on regular payroll cycle
- Maintains a serviceoriented approach to working with management, colleagues and when responding to employee inquiries
- Ensures that all payroll processing transactions are accurate and are consistent with Company guidelines and legislative requirements
- Identifies errors and provides solutions/recommendations as required
- Liaises with third party payroll vendor(s) regarding payroll and reporting delivery, and reviews performance and services as required
- Continually reviews payroll systems for efficiency and accuracy, and recommends system improvements
- Provides training and direction to other Payroll personnel
- Completes project work as assigned
- Provides workforce reports, and develops solutions for new reporting requirements
- Works closely with other departments as required to provide payroll and related services that best meet the needs of the Stream-Flo Group workforce
- High school diploma additional formal payroll training is an asset
- 3 years payroll administration experience
- Strong working knowledge of standard payroll concepts, practices and procedures
- Familiarity with hourly and salaried payroll practices, as well as third party payroll systems (UKG experience is an asset)
- Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good judgment and decisionmaking skills
- Selfmotivated and able to work under general supervision
