JOB SUMMARY
The Neighbourhood Organizing Initiative (NOI) Project Coordinator reports to the NOI Project Manager.

The NOI Project Coordinator is someone with a passion for making their community a better place to live, work and play in.

They are committed to learning how a community functions and how best to engage with community members. They are collaborative, creative, and eager to explore new ideas in building community connectivity.

As a Project Coordinator, you collaborate with various stakeholders, ensuring that project objectives are met within specified timelines and budgets.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement community engagement strategies that utilize various forms of engagement including surveys, virtual and in-person community meetings, workshops, door to door campaigns and social media/print campaigns
  • Develop and foster relationships with city departments, enforcement agencies, social agencies, community and neighbourhood groups and nonprofits
  • Analyze engagement responses and translate insights into safety and well-being reports and recommendations
  • Connect communities to the right external resources to further safety report recommendations
  • Organize, participate in, and document digital and in-person community meetings (occasionally on weekends and evenings)
  • Research and identify community assets in partnering neighbourhoods
  • Research grant opportunities for the initiative
  • Support community event planning efforts alongside community and attend events

General Responsibilities:

Project Planning:

  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to define project scope, objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones and resource allocation.
  • Identify potential risks and issues and devise contingency plans.

Project Execution:

  • Assist in the day-to-day coordination and management of projects, ensuring adherence to the established project plan.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones and report on project status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication among team members, clients and other stakeholders.

Resource Management:

  • Allocate and manage project resources efficiently to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Coordinate with various teams and departments to ensure smooth workflow and task completion.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, progress reports and meeting minutes.
  • Prepare and present regular project status updates and reports to management and clients.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Foster positive relationships with clients, team members and other stakeholders.
  • Address concerns and queries promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
