Your opportunity:

BDO Canada is looking for a
Manager, National Assurance & Accounting Standards who can work remote within any of our Canadian offices to join our National Assurance & Accounting Standards team.


This individual will be responsible for developing guidance, training, and practice tools for staff in local offices and enabling them to conduct engagements efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with relevant standards and Firm requirements.


The role consists of working in a team environment, offering multiple opportunities for team work, as well as individual projects.

As a team, you will be assisting in the following areas:

  • Providing guidance and performing research to assist individuals in the Firm's local offices on accounting and assurance and related services matters
  • Developing accounting and assurance and related services publications, manuals, and other practice tools for internal and external distribution
  • Striving for efficiency when reviewing forms and policies while ensuring that standards and quality are met on a national level
  • Developing firm policies relating to accounting and assurance and related services engagements
  • Designing and delivering effective accounting and assurance and related services training programs for Partners and staff, including live instructorled training, webbased training, and virtual instructorled training

Your experience and education

  • You have a CPA, CA designation (or other similar professional designation, e.g., CPA, CGA / CPA, CMA, etc.)
  • You have 35 years (post designation) of accounting and assurance standards experience
  • You have proficient knowledge of Canadian Financial Reporting Frameworks and of assurance and related services standards in Canada
  • You have experience in delivering training and presentations, including development of relevant materials
  • You have effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • You possess a basic understanding of other standards, policies and procedures that interact with accounting and auditing including risk management, independence, tax, etc.
  • You possess strong communication skills. Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred but not a requirement
