Key position functions:

  • Process payroll and timekeeping activities and associated duties in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain high proficiency knowledge of payroll and timekeeping systems, and prevailing payroll/legislative practices.
  • Provide strong customer service focus to employees and management.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Human Resources colleagues, and other Department representatives as required (Finance, Operations, etc.).
  • Complete accurate and timely payroll processing, consistent with Company guidelines and legislative requirements.
  • Review time records for completeness and accuracy, compile information and enter into timekeeping system as required.
  • Liaise with third party payroll vendor(s) regarding service and troubleshooting issues.
  • Maintain updated payroll related information (rates, benefits, employee information, etc.).
  • Maintain a service oriented approach to working with management, colleagues and when responding to employee inquiries and concerns.
  • Assist with preparing new hire packages.
  • Assist with processing new hires and terminations.
  • Maintain employee files and information.
  • Complete project work as assigned.
  • Three years of payroll administration experience is preferred.
  • High School Diploma additional education and Canadian Payroll Association accreditation are assets.
  • Knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems experience with UKG is a strong asset.
  • Experience with hourly and salaried payroll processes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with benefit administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail & accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer focused.
  • Proven problem solving and decision making skills good judgment.
  • Well organized and selfmotivated.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
