Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking an Intermediate Wildlife Biologist to join our terrestrial wildlife team. This position is based in one of our British Columbia offices. The ideal candidate should excel in wildlife field work and thrive in a team environment. Responsibilities include leading wildlife field programs, collecting and analyzing data, preparing environmental assessments, writing management plans, supporting caribou mitigation plans, and assisting with environmental permitting for various projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong health and safety culture
- Develop and implement terrestrial wildlife field programs
- Technical writing and report preparation
- Coordinate assignments and manage tasks
- Communicate with clients and project teams
- Provide support to junior staff
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong wildlife identification skills in British Columbia
- Experience in wildlife handling and field program management
- Knowledge of environmental legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with environmental assessments and regulatory applications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or graduate degree in biology or related discipline
- Registration with the British Columbia College of Applied Biology
- Minimum of 3 years consulting experience
