EIS _for short_) is currently looking for passionate and attentive Community Disability Support Workers (CDSW) with about one (1) to two (2) years' of proven experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities.

About the Role


Based in the Edmonton area, the role of a CDSW is to work collaboratively with and at the direction of the Agency's Program Supervisor while effectively providing compassionate care and attentive support to adult Individuals Accessing Services ("IAS") with developmental disabilities and behaviors of concern.


The Day to Day:

  • Maintain daily routines and activities that align with the overall needs and development of the Individuals Accessing Services within the Residential Support Program.
  • Ensure the strategies outlined in the Individual's Support Plans are monitored and being documented regularly and accurately.
  • Maintain effective communication records and reporting within the Program, ensuring administrative procedures as established by the Agency are followed.
  • You understand the significance of Person-Centered Thinking, building on the strengths, talents, skills, and contributions in your delivery of the daily support of Individuals Accessing Services
  • You recognize the rights of Individuals to make informed choices and take accountability for those choices and potential risks.
  • You are attentive to the needs of Individuals, and you engage with empathy, patience, and compassion.
  • You are passionate about exploring and presenting meaningful experiences and connections for individuals. while seeking opportunities for inclusion within their community.
  • 12 years' working experience providing individual care and support to adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Current Emergency First Aid with CPR, level A
  • Formal and/or Professional Education in Rehabilitation or Human Services a major asset
  • Intermediate computer skills with applied experience in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Practical experience and accuracy with maintaining service records and reporting.
  • Ability to interact professionally while building positive relationships with Individuals, their guardians, family members, and other community resources.
  • Ability to provide a Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Clearance which meets Agency standards and Sector requirements.
  • Ability to provide Government issued endorsement of Eligibility to legally work in Canada where required.
  • Ability to provide Government issued documentation full COVID19 vaccination.
