RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proofread filing information, inventor information, title and other documents.
  • File formal documents such as Assignments, Declarations, and the like.
  • Keep up to date on changes in patent law.
  • Correspond directly with clients.
  • Prepare and communicate invoices.
  • Reporting declaration letters.
  • Filing declarations.
  • Reporting filing receipts.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Patent experience.
  • Experience working in an electronic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Suite (Outlook and Word primarily).
  • Good understanding of legal reference materials, procedures, and legal filing systems.
  • Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation for complex documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is critical.
  • Able to maintain filing systems and basic databases.
  • Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate or Law Clerk Program/Paralegal degree would also be considered an asset.
