CAMH is Canada's largest academic health sciences centre dedicated to mental health and addiction. Talk Suicide is Canada's only national, bilingual, suicide specific helpline. It is available 24/7/365 to those with suicide-related concerns.

Talk Suicide Canada is a joint initiative, with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Crisis Services Canada (CSC), and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) National as founding partners.

CAMH, the lead for Talk Suicide Canada, was also recently announced as the lead for the coordination and service delivery planning for 988, a three-digit number for suicide prevention in Canada, which is expected to launch in November 2023.


Position Description
Talk Suicide Canada and 988 is seeking a full-time, permanent Education Coordinator to support the implementation of 988. This role will report to the Manager, Talk Suicide Canada.

The Education Coordinator will support the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of education and training activities within Talk Suicide and subsequently 988, including:

  • Contributing to the development and coordination of the 988 Training Strategy in collaboration with Network Partners.
  • Consideration of training content/curricula, modalities of training (e.g. Learning Management System (LMS), live training components, supervision), development of best practices, training standardization, virtual communities of practice and more.
  • Recognizing diverse training needs within populations with higher risk of suicide, including some First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities and LGBTQ2 communities and organizations.
  • Aligning with the 988 Strategic and Operational Plan and support additional training and education initiatives as required by the service.
- support the development of policies and procedures for 988 at the core of the training content

  • Facilitate and support a working group of key members to design and develop the training which will be rolled out to all 988 network members.


As a key member of the team, the successful incumbent will be expected to work collaboratively on projects with cross functional teams, both internally and externally.

The incumbent will champion and lead initiatives that support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable policies, procedures and legislation.

This position is located at 60 White Squirrel Way, with travel between sites, as necessary.

Qualifications

Please Note:
This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.

Salary Range:
$ $45.31 per hour
