Le Projet Genèse, un organisme communautaire avec plus de 40 ans de militantisme et solidarité sociale à Côte-des-Neiges, cherche à combler un poste permanent à temps plein (5 jours/semaine), dans son Centre de services individuels. Le Centre de services individuels intervient dans les domaines des droits de locataires, et les programmes sociaux tels que l'aide sociale et les pensions de vieillesse. Échelle salariale débutant à 25$/ heure.

Les tâches principales incluent:

- Effectuer le suivi dans les dossiers individuels complexes
- Participer à la formation et supervision des bénévoles et des étudiant.e.s
- Effectuer la vérification de dossiers pour en assurer la qualité
- Participer à la préparation et l'animation d'ateliers d'éducation populaire
- Collaborer avec l'équipe d'organisation communautaire de notre organisme ainsi que ceux d'autres organismes

Nous cherchons:

- Bilinguisme (français et anglais), autre langue un atout
- Expérience dans le secteur communautaire, bénévole ou rémunéré
- Expérience en services individuels
- Connaissance des programmes sociaux ou des droits de locataires
- Études en droit ou en travail social
- Capacité d'apprentissage autonome
- Capacité à analyser et à retenir des informations pratiques et légales complexes
- Minutie
- Entregent et excellentes aptitudes en communication
- Capacité à travailler sous pression
- Aisance avec travail autonome et travail collaboratif
- Engagement envers les droits sociaux et la justice sociale
- Intérêt pour le travail avec des individus de communautés et parcours divers.

Social Rights Worker

Full-time Permanent Position

Project Genesis, a community organization with over 40 years of activism and social solidarity in
Côte-des-Neiges, is looking to fill a permanent full-time position (5 days/week) in its Individual
Services Center. The Individual Services Center works in the areas of tenant rights and social programs such as social assistance and pensions. Salary scale starting at $25/hour.

Principal tasks include:

- Follow-up on complex individual cases
- Participate in the training and supervision of volunteers and students
- Conduct file checks to ensure quality
- Contribute to the preparation and facilitation of popular education workshops
- Collaborate with the community organizing team of our organization as well as those of other organizations

We are seeking:

- Bilingualism (French and English) other language an asset
- Experience in the community sector, volunteer or paid
- Experience in individual services
- Knowledge of social programs or tenant rights
- Studies in law or social work
- Capacity for independent learning
- Ability to analyze and retain complex practical and legal information
- Attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Comfort with both independent and collaborative work
- Commitment to social rights and social justice
- Interest in working with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds
