The opportunity
We are seeking for a skilled professional with in-depth experience of contract management to join our team.

As a Contract Specialist, you oversee the development, implementation and management of the entire vendor lifecycle and contract management processes within the organization.

Your primary focus is on building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, negotiating and managing contracts, rationalizing contracts and vendors, monitor and manage vendor performance related to services they deliver to BC Ferries, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligation.


The Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Supporting full lifecycle vendor and contract management
  • Maintaining contract repository and managing the endtoend process from postaward through closeout
  • Preparing documentation for contract closeout and ensures all documentation is processed and properly archive
  • Preparing contract amendments to ensure effectiveness of contractual change management and reviewing financial implications
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with vendors to ensure alignment with organization goals and objectives
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for vendor communications, issue resolution and escalations
  • Regularly meeting with internal stakeholders and Tier 1 Suppliers to ensure all aspects of assigned contracts are met and vendor is performing as per contractual obligations
  • Preparing documentation related to formal notices, letters, changes, claims, reports and any other contract management documentation
  • Highlighting risks in the contracts to the stakeholders and supporting in managing the identified risks
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and supporting reporting manager to develop and implement risk mitigation plans, track risks and reporting on any concerns
  • Liaising with crossfunctional teams internally, and with external stakeholders regarding commercial aspects of the assigned contracts
  • Assisting in the development of Contract & Vendor Management (CVM)
