Unit/Project Description:


DeGroote Executive Programs is a division within the DeGroote School of Business that is committed to providing high quality education and professional development programs that meets the needs of senior and aspiring leaders.

The division's four levels of programs include Executive Education, the Executive MBA in Digital Transformation, Health Leadership Academy and The Directors College and represent a suite of executive level programming for managers, organizational leaders and board directors.

DeGroote Executive Programs is a critical pillar of the Faculty's strategic plan and supports the reach and stature of the School by offering leading-edge, highly relevant programming, forging new partnerships and cultivating alumni engagement.

Located at the Ron Joyce Centre in Burlington, this position will work closely with the Director and division Managers to ensure that all programs within the portfolio are maximizing engagement opportunities and receiving the proper exposure to identified target audiences.


General Description:


Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating communication and engagement program strategies designed to promote the programs, platforms, courses, services, events, and workshops provided by the department.

Ensure communication initiatives are executed and understood by others and that they follow the University's and department policy and other relevant procedures and guidelines.


Representative Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, manage, and evaluate communication and engagement strategies, campaigns and program marketing and communication plans with clearly defined goals, objectives, target audience, marketing mediums, and performance metrics that align with the strategic priorities of the department, in consultation with others.
  • Provide advice, maintain, revise and make recommendations regarding the communications and engagement guidelines and policies to ensure the consistency of messaging and standards as it relates to the communication and engagement strategies.
  • Provide estimates and recommendations on the financial and staff resources required to support the implementation of new tools, platforms, technology, events and programs.
  • Provide feedback on recruitment, retention and engagement strategy for casual staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives are communicated and keep project participants informed of project process through regular reporting and correspondence.
  • Plan and coordinate a variety of events and activities, including, but not limited to, workshops, conferences, training, publishing, and posting.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key contacts and stakeholders within the internal and external community for the purpose of promoting the activities and programs of the department.
  • Liaise with external vendors, advertisers, translators, print, web and digital professionals.
  • Collect, evaluate and measure marketing campaign performance that calculates enrolments and engagement metrics, and assess overall return on investment.
  • Develop, promote and conduct surveys, to support marketing and communication strategy development.
  • Remain current with marketing trends, developments in new technologies and social media platforms.
  • Remain current with Canadian and international government legislation, ethical standards, and policy documents which relate to marketing, data collection, privacy, and accessibility.

Supervision:

Has ongoing responsibility for supervising (may include selecting) of - 9 casual employees (at any one time).
