Job Description Summary
To support the planning, execution, and evaluation of the clinical aspect of undergraduate nursing courses. Educate students in an interactive and inclusive setting to enhance their skills for critical judgment and decision-making in patient care.
Organizational Status
Collaborate closely with course leaders and the Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs as needed.
Work Performed
- Actively engage in teaching nursing competencies in clinical practice labs.
- Supervise students in hospital or community health settings.
- Assist with theoretical components of clinical coursework.
- Participate in team activities related to the undergraduate program.
- Fulfill other duties as necessary.
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Error in judgment can impact nursing students' clinical performance, patient care safety, faculty opportunities, and the School's reputation.
Supervision Received
Work independently and collaboratively in clinical settings.
Supervision Given
Supervise and mentor students in clinical areas; provide direct skill supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate Nursing degree & Registered Nurse with BCCNM.
Nursing Licensure in British Columbia.
Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Minimum two years of clinical experience.
Solid clinical background in specialized areas.
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Teaching experience or interest in teaching.
