Responsible for supporting the Lundin Corporate Sustainability team with a primary focus on the environmental team, and ad-hoc support to the sustainability reporting and social performance teams. This role will provide data management and analysis support, SharePoint optimization, reporting, sustainability risks register coordination, environmental incident reporting and support the development of and assessment against our environmental performance standards to reinforce compliance internally with the Lundin Mining Responsible Mining Policy and Management System. This role will work with the sites to ensure a deeper understanding of the environmental risks, opportunities, and overall performance at our global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, investigations, and provide data interpretation related to various environmental and sustainability reporting aspects associated with mine operations.
  • Research, test and implement software technology to improve existing processes and enhance engagement and collaboration.
  • Design, create and manage Power BI reports for both the corporate and site teams.
  • Manage the internal environmental incident reporting process, including site support, training, database management, incident classification validation, and final reporting.
  • Review and provide input on project proposals and technical reports.
  • Support the development of environmental performance standards, guides, and procedures that correspond to the Responsible Mining Management System.
  • Support training and internal assessments at all sites to facilitate implementation of environmental standards and evaluate compliance.
  • Support internal and external reporting, including internal monthly and quarterly reports, and external sustainability related disclosures.
  • Monitor and report on global environmental regulation trends.
  • Oversee and implement the internal Safety Data Sheet (SDS) update process.
  • Coordinate with LMC operations and projects a sustainability risk register process and provide support with auditing processes, to manage issues, impacts, and risks.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an environment or science-related discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience; experience within mining industry preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other disciplines to deliver successful outcomes on complicated issues.
  • Willing to travel to global operations, work in diverse cultures and understand international business environments.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • GIS and database systems experience is welcome.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese would also be an asset.
