Purchasing Manager
Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible to support all Indirect Spend. This will include MRO, Marketing, IT, HR, Facilities, and all other departments. They will lead the MRO team to support production requirements for consumables. They will develop partnerships with suppliers to leverage spend through sourcing, RFQ/RFP negotiations and monitor supplier performance. Highly strategic and resourceful problem-solving skills are essential. Strong contract management and cost analysis experience are a must.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Manage spend of approx. $50 Million.
  • Analyze Indirect Spend categories to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Lead and support MRO Buyer and MRO Assistant to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Develop collaborative process to work with all departments on supporting spend and institute cost control measures by obtaining multiple quotes, negotiations, and best overall decision for the organization.
  • Supply Risk Management identify risks and prioritize contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Manage and report Cost Savings, Cost Increases, and Cost Avoidance monthly.
  • Effective Project Management experience to track initiatives and meet timelines.
  • Identify and develop new suppliers across all Indirect Spend categories.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize suppliers, perform SKU rationalization across all plants.
  • Develop stocking program for PPE and other key consumables to reduce inventory and control costs.
  • Advanced communications and interpersonal skills to work with Suppliers as well as intercompany facilities.

Education and Experience:

  • College or University degree/diploma with a business focus.
  • 710 years of experience in Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment; minimum 6 years with purchasing experience.
  • Recommended SCMP; Purchasing/Supply Chain Degree; Business Degree.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Effective time management & resourceful problemsolving skills to mitigate risks.
  • Proven ability to achieve cost savings objectives and work collaboratively with all team members to maximize results.
  • Ability to summarize strategy into a clear, compelling, and concise narrative.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.
