Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the leading provider of high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom industry, including Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, and Switches. These connectors play a vital role in driving the electronics evolution and are essential for top-tier OEMs worldwide. We are in search of an Engineering Manager to join our High Speed IO Connector team based in Markham, ON.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the design, qualification, and launch of new products in collaboration with the global HSIO connectors engineering and the local test laboratory team.
  • Provide technical guidance to support the design and development team in achieving project goals.
  • Manage team priorities to meet project milestones and customer commitments.
  • Guide the HSIO engineering team in creating new product designs, prototyping, and production launch.
  • Engage with customers and sales to define product roadmaps and requirements.
  • Support the development of engineering proposals.
  • Provide regular project status reports to management.
  • Mentor the engineering team for their professional growth.
  • Resolve design and engineering issues.
  • Review and approve drawings, BOMs, and Item Masters.
  • Conduct mechanical simulations and tolerance analyses.
  • Ensure designs meet price, performance, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments towards common goals.
  • Occasional business travel may be required.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Minimum 10 years of engineering experience. Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, specifically SolidWorks. Strong problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication in English. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Experience in coordinating global teams for product development. Background in engineering high-speed signal integrity connectors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Understanding of connectors or small mechanical/electrical components. Minimum 5 years of Project management experience. Knowledge of design for manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection molding, and automated techniques. Proven skills in tolerance analysis. Willingness to travel across N.A, Europe, and Asia. Proficiency in FEA simulation and modeling. Familiarity with industry-standard form factors and connector testing procedures.
