Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Client Relations & Business Development:
    1. Develop and nurture new and existing client relationships.
    2. Actively pursue and foster new business opportunities.
    3. Contribute to business development efforts, including marketing and client engagement.
  2. Project Management:
    1. Oversee and manage Mechanical engineering projects of varying sizes and complexities.
    2. Analyze design proposals and specifications to provide cost-effective solutions.
    3. Ensure professional quality services and guide assigned personnel.
  3. Leadership & Mentoring:
    1. Mentor and support Mechanical Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
    2. Assist with recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and staff development.
  4. Administrative Duties:
    1. Manage day-to-day project activities and adhere to critical deadlines.
    2. Handle quality and cost control during design and construction phases.
    3. Write proposals for additional services and ensure client approval before starting new work.
  5. Financial Management:
    1. Oversee project budgets, invoicing, and reporting, ensuring profitability and cost control.
    2. Address work in progress (WIP) and additional services as required.
  6. Performance Metrics:
    1. Achieve business development goals, maintain existing accounts, and secure new business.
    2. Manage a portfolio of projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high client satisfaction.
    3. Ensure efficient use of billable hours and achieve a 75% utilization rate.
  7. Professional Development:
    1. Complete at least 30 hours of professional development annually.
    2. Obtain relevant professional certifications (P.ENG, P.L.ENG, P.TECH) to sign and seal documents as required.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of successful and profitable project delivery.
  • High client satisfaction leading to repeat business and referrals.
  • Effective communicator with technical, professional, and management staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced negotiation, conflict resolution, and diplomatic skills.
  • Knowledge of financial management related to project invoicing, work in progress, and staff utilization.
