ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Technical Writer is a member of the HSO standards development team, reporting to the Senior Program Manager or Program Manager.
In this role, the Technical Writer will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to collect and interpret complex information and transform it into quality standards.
You will have excellent time management and prioritization skills in order to ensure the work is completed with a high degree of quality and on time.
Main Responsibilities:
- Effectively scopes and delivers the project writing requirements on time.
- Composes, proofs, edits and revises standards content following standards development procedures and writing guides.
- Creates, continuously improves and maintains content templates that comply with standards development procedures.
- Proficient in biomedical and standards referencing, writing styles and reference manager software
- Integrates content into a consistent voice, meeting the needs of the target audience.
- Continuously identifies and implements efficiencies in team processes.
- Works independently while seeking guidance or support when needed.
- Completes technical writing deliverables on time and scope.
Must Have Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, or relevant technical field
- 35 years of experience as a scientific, technical or regulatory writer.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Medical terminology and health literacy competencies
- Highly organized with strong prioritization skills, able to manage multiple competing project deliverables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to take initiative with critical thinking skills, while raising risks and barriers to the Project Manager early and often
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual in French and English.
- Certification in technical writing.
- Experience in the healthcare sector.
- Background in standards development, accreditation or regulation.
