Your resume should show us:

  • E.I.T. designation with registration or eligibility to register with APEGA
  • Any design and/or field experience with municipal engineering design/construction
  • Familiarity with design tools, such as Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Design experience, specifically with water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater drainage systemsis an asset.
  • AutoCAD / GIS Experience
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D, ArcGIS and other design/drafting software
  • Experience with Mike Urban, PCSWMM, XPSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, HEC-RAS,and/or other hydrology/hydraulic modelling software.
  • Specific experience with stormwater management planning, design, and construction.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively liaise with clients. While no two days look the same, you can expect to support activities including:

  • Planning, analysis, and design of urban hydraulic systems, of both new and rehabilitation infrastructure
  • Design of water, wastewater and stormwater systems
  • Grading designs for surface drainage works and roadways
  • Cost estimation for municipal upgrade and rehabilitation projects
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of complex urban drainage systems using state of the art software
  • Utility coordination and preparation of crossing agreements
  • Preparation of engineering reports, documents, and drawings
  • Project Delivery
  • Preparation of proposals in response to RFPs
  • Following quality procedures for drawings and reports
  • Preparation of procurement documents including specifications
  • Coordination of tendering processes
  • Contract administration of projects during construction

Examples of the projects you may work on:

  • Utility relocations for LRT expansions
  • Drainage designs for major roadway and interchange projects
  • Flood mitigation projects including dry/wet ponds, sewer upgrades and Low Impact Development (LID)
  • Regional water and wastewater systems
  • Pump stations and force mains (new and rehabilitation)
