We are currently looking for an experienced Intermediate Municipal Engineer to lead and grow a municipal engineering team within our Calgary or Edmonton based Municipal Infrastructure Group. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and demonstrated experience managing a diverse range of municipal projects of varying scope and size for municipalities, developers, and First Nations clients.

The ideal candidate is passionate and enjoys working on a wide variety of municipal projects, such as urban roads, water and wastewater infrastructure, storm water management, flood protection, utility upgrades, and site grading and servicing.

Some of the Responsibilities You May Have:

Leading a team of Engineers and Designers on municipal projects, from inception through to construction. Managing Municipal Engineering projects including Financial Controls, Project Management, and Client Relationships, in accordance with our Quality Management System. Preparation of proposals, reports, preliminary and detailed designs, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, tendering, and contract administration. Collaborating on projects with other professionals, including Geotechnical Engineers, EnvironmentalScientists, Planners, and Landscape Architects. Planning projects, developing accurate scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules. Liaising with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, and contractors. Providing technical mentorship to staff.

Qualifications that Would Make You A Great Candidate:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. 5 -15 years of progressive experience in Municipal Engineering and Project Management, preferably in the consulting industry. Experience or aptitude for proposal writing, client development, working in a team setting to meet timelines, and other skills appropriate to consulting. Registered (or eligible to register) as a Civil Engineer with APEGA. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
